Product Review: 2-Pack Floating Shelves
After installing the 2-Pack Floating Shelves in my home, I have mixed feelings about their overall performance and quality. Here’s a breakdown of my experience:
- Design & Aesthetics: The ultra-slim profile and the light oak finish give these shelves a modern, minimalist look that fits well with my decor. The shelves are indeed chic and provide a stylish alternative to bulky wall shelving.
- Quality of Materials: Made from sustainably sourced reforested MDP wood, the material feels durable. However, I did notice that one of the shelves was slightly bowed, making it difficult to install it flush against the wall.
- Weight Capacity: The advertised weight limit is 33 lbs per shelf, which seems reasonable for light decorations. However, I found the weight capacity to be a bit lower than expected, and I would be cautious about placing heavier items.
- Installation: Installation was a bit tricky despite the easy-to-follow directions. The InvisiBolts system is innovative, but the bowed shelf made it challenging to secure properly. It took me longer than the advertised 10 minutes to get everything aligned and stable.
- Overall Utility: The shelves fit perfectly in terms of length and depth for my hobby room, and once installed, they do look great. They provide adequate storage and display space for lighter items.
While these floating shelves have a sleek and modern look, there are some engineering issues that need to be addressed to improve ease of installation and stability. Overall, they are a good choice if you need stylish and light-duty shelving, but be prepared for a potentially challenging setup process.
