I was excited to add these rustic floating shelves to my home décor, and here are my thoughts:
- Design & Aesthetics: The shelves truly embody a rustic and farmhouse charm with their reclaimed wood and natural grain. Each shelf has unique characteristics like saw blade marks and scuffs, which adds to their authenticity.
- Build Quality: These shelves are solid wood and feel very sturdy. The cast iron brackets are heavy-duty and contribute to the industrial look. The thickness of over 1 1/2 inches gives them a substantial presence on the wall.
- Installation: While the shelves themselves are great, the installation process could use some improvement. The screws provided were not suitable for the drywall anchors, resulting in stripped anchors and holes in the wall. Clearer instructions regarding bracket placement would also be helpful.
- Overall Appearance: The shelves did not completely match the advertised pictures. They appeared dull and lifeless, requiring additional sanding, staining, and varnishing to achieve the desired look. This was a bit disappointing given the price.
