Great Addition to Any Room, With Some Caveats
I decided to get these rustic floating shelves to add some character and functionality to my living space, and overall, I’m pleased with the outcome. Here are my thoughts:
- Easy Installation: The shelves come with all necessary mounting hardware and instructions, which made the installation process straightforward. However, I would recommend using your own screws and wall anchors for better stability.
- Lightweight but Sturdy: Made from solid Paulownia wood, these shelves are lightweight yet reasonably sturdy. They look great and can hold lighter items without issue.
- Versatile Design: The rustic finish and dark walnut color blend well with various room styles. They work wonderfully in my living room and would suit other spaces like the bathroom or kitchen.
- Not for Heavy Items: While the shelves are great for decorative items like candles, small plants, or picture frames, they don’t seem to hold up well under heavier loads. I wouldn’t put anything over 10-12 lbs on them, despite the advertised 30 lbs capacity.
- Quality Concerns: The hardware provided is not the best quality. I encountered a few issues with screws snapping and had to replace them with sturdier ones from my toolbox. Additionally, one of the shelves had minor dents and a slight warp, but these imperfections are not very noticeable once installed.
- Great Value for Money: Despite some drawbacks, these shelves offer great value for the price. They are a classy and functional addition to any room.
