Great Shelves with a Few Installation Hiccups
I decided to use the BAYKA Floating Shelves in my kitchen and home office for both functionality and decor. Here’s my breakdown:
Pros:
- Modern & Simplistic Design: These shelves have a sleek, contemporary look that fits well with any decor style.
- Good Quality: The shelves are made of engineered wood treated with a protective sealant, which prevents warping and damage.
- Versatile Use: I love that these can be used in any room, whether it’s a bedroom, bathroom, or kitchen.
- Load-Bearing Capacity: Each shelf can hold up to 22 lbs, which is great for displaying books, decor, and small storage items.
- Ample Size: At 16 inches in length, the shelves provide plenty of space for various items.
Cons:
- Installation Issues: The included wall anchors are not very reliable. I found them difficult to screw in properly, and the shelves were initially wobbly and not flush against the wall. I had to buy different anchors from a hardware store, which solved the problem.
- Inconsistent Hardware: I bought multiple packs and noticed that some came with different brackets and anchors, which made installation more complicated than it should have been.
Overall, despite the installation hiccups, the BAYKA Floating Shelves look fantastic and are sturdy once properly anchored. They’ve definitely added a nice touch to my home and I’d recommend them, but be prepared to use your own wall anchors.
