These Peter’s Goods Floating Shelves with Rail are a fantastic addition to any room, seamlessly blending rustic charm with a modern farmhouse design. The shelves are made from beautifully torched natural Paulownia wood and come with matte black steel frames that not only add to their aesthetic appeal but also ensure durability. They are incredibly versatile; you can use them in the bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, or living room to showcase your favorite items or store toiletries securely thanks to the protective metal guards.
Installation is a breeze with the included user guide and hardware. While I chose to use my own anchors for added security, the provided screws and anchors are sufficient. I appreciated that the shelves are pre-assembled and come with an optional towel bar, making them even more functional. Although I did not use the towel bar, it’s a nice feature for those looking to add extra hanging space.
One aspect that really stood out to me is the absence of any offgassing smell upon opening the box, making it ready to use immediately. The shelves are sturdy and hold a significant amount of weight without any issues. I’ve placed heavy jars and electric candles on them, and they haven’t budged. The metal rim is a thoughtful addition, ensuring that even small items stay in place.
While the shelves are a bit lighter than I expected, a touch of Old English brown furniture polish made them match my decor perfectly. They truly add a nice rustic yet modern touch to the room. However, there are a couple of minor drawbacks worth mentioning. The towel bar length doesn’t perfectly align with the rail bars, which could be an issue for those who are particular about symmetry. Also, the absence of pre-drilled holes for the towel bar caused minor cracks during installation. Pre-drilling holes could prevent this issue.
Overall, these shelves are an excellent value for money, offering a blend of style and functionality. Despite a few minor flaws, they are well-crafted and have significantly improved the look and organization of my space. The customer service is also commendable, ready to assist with any issues.
